Yating Li successfully defended her PhD!

Yating

We are pleased to announce that Yating successfully defended her PhD thesis on May 29nd!

In her PhD project, Yating investigated the negative effects of low root temperatures on the water relations of temperate tree species. She investigated 16 common European tree species and demonstrated for the first time that the species’ sensitivity of root water uptake against low temperatures correlate with their natural high elevation distribution limits. Within her studies she could also directly link the reduced water uptake with restriction of growth of the investigated tree species and thus propose a general mechanisms for growth limitation of trees at low temperatures.

The PPE team congratulates Yating and whishes her all the best for her future career!
