This meeting happened in September 15-16 2022, and was organized by the Herbaria Basel and the Basel Botanical Society (BBG). It attracted about 100 scientists from 14 countries contributing 25 invited and contributed talks and 31 poster presentations, emphasizing the many ways in which herbaria are transforming research from ecology to evolution, from history of science to global change.  The issue was edited by Jürg Stöcklin (BBG) and Jurriaan de Vos (PPE / Herbaria Basel) and has now appeared in print and online open source as a special issue of the Bauhinia journal.
