Patrícia dos Santos and Jurriaan de Vos receive new funding for fieldwork in the Canary Islands

Aeonium

Funding comes from the Stiftung zur Förderung der Pflanzenkenntnis, and will support fieldwork on the islands of El Hierro and Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. The project "The eco-morphological diversification of the genus Aeonium (Crassulaceae) in the Canary Islands: collecting the missing links” will seek to:

- Collect herbarium specimens of Aeonium species on El Hierro and Lanzarote, and also sample for DNA, morphological, and isotopic analyses.
- Record high-resolution presence/absence data of species at localities across environments on both islands.
- Collect herbarium specimens of co-occurring species for species that are rare, range restricted or otherwise of special interest.
