Jinmei Liu joined the PPE team as a PhD student
Jinmei started her PhD work this week at the University of Basel. In her PhD Jinmei will investigate the effects of elevated CO2 on plant internal nitrogen isotope fractionations. Understanding how elevated CO2 stimulates plant internal nitrogen allocation and affects bulk plant d15N values independently from soil nitrogen isotope backgrounds will be critically important information for the interpretation of plant d15N values from plant archives. Jinmei is originally from China and in her previous work she investigated phenological changes in Rhododendron in a diversity hotspot in the Himalaya-Hengduan mountains in western China.
