Gabriela Ushida Neves visiting
Gabriela Ushida Neves from Wageningen University is visiting the PPE team to learn more about ecophysiological measurements and mechanistic modeling. Gabriela is pursuing her PhD within the Forest Ecology and Management group, alongside Pieter Zuidema, Frank Sterck, Peter Groenendijk, Jorad de Vries, and Richard L. Peters. She will be conducting her research in Brazil, focusing on tropical dry forests and savannas, aiming to quantify carbon sink and source dynamics during drought. She will utilize a model developed by Richard to simulate the dynamics of turgor in the stems of mature trees. The PPE team warmly welcomes Gabriela and looks forward to supporting her in this fascinating endeavor.
