The University Library and Botanical Garden have launched a well curated exhibition on the life and scientific activities of Caspar Bauhin, who passed away 400 years ago. Caspar Bauhin was the first professor for botany at our university and was one of the most influential biologists of his time and is considered one of the founding fathers of modern plant sciences. The exhibit shows specimens of Bauhin's more than 400 year old plant collections, the original editions of the books he published and highlights his scientific achievements.
